As long as yu meet the Codes for your area (the Minimum) you can put more based on your needs . @ 8 ft ‘ i would recommend 4 start @ center and split the difference according to the stud location.
im a builder in the uk …have done lots of work for social services …and …must have put up many hundreds of handrails …on an 8 ft rail …we call ours mop-stick …you would start first one 9″in …last one 9″in and split difference for middle …3 brackets is plenty …but of course i do not know how you guys fit them over there …our brackets have 3 screw holes
Three brackets in eight feet should be fine, otherwise put them every other stud if you think it needs it.
